How about from Saturn?
From Mars…
Here are fun facts for you to really think about how we are in this universe…
If you go on a beach, you would think that the sand is impossible to count since it could be billions… But did you know that there are more stars in space than grains of sand on every beach on Earth?
Seeing that the sun is humongous, did you know that our sun is considered to be a dwarf star? Meaning that it is a star that is slightly below the average size of one? Take a look at what it looks compared to YV Canis Majoris.
To make it a bit more understandable, if our sun was a blood cell, the Milky Way galaxy (our galaxy) would be as big as a country… And not just any other country but the United States of America.
Speaking of the Milky Way, do you want to know where we are inside this galaxy? Let me pinpoint it out to you.
So all the see you stars at night? These are just stars in this little circle right here.
But then again, our galaxy, the Milky Way is not the largest galaxy in the solar system… Here is its size compared to Ic 1011.
Our galaxy is just a part of these millions of galaxies in our observable universe. Each galaxy containing millions of stars.
Let’s take a step back and see where we are from the vast realms of space
Where we are in our “neighborhood” from our galaxy.
Let’s take a bit farther…
And here, the photo that would make you rethink about your existence. Everything above, well you can see than in that small red dot right there. How impressive is that?
Now, after knowing all of these information. Did it change the way you think of yourself and the world around you? All that we see everyday, no matter how big or small is just in that red dot right there. All the other dots contain millions of things we do not know so there are a million possibilities we can never imagine.
I mean the whole point of this is for us to realize that there can be billions of other things we do not know – how interesting would it be if we start to unravel all of those slowly, one by one?
