The Oscars 2017 Awards Mix-Up

The 89th Annual Academy Awards were held at the Governors Ball at Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood California last Sunday night, February 26. That unforgettable night at the Oscars where veteran actor Warren Beatty was assisted by his Bonnie and Clyde co-star Faye Dunaway ended up announcing the erroneous winner for the award for Best Picture. “La la Land” was the first original announced winner.

Beatty seems reluctant to announce what’s printed in the paper. He explained that when he opened the envelope for Best Picture, the result card stated Emma Stone, Best Actress for La La Land, which is why he paused, and then glance to his co-presenter, Faye Dunaway – until the latter announced “La La Land”!

The La la Land group went up to the stage, after being called, accepted their trophy and even made their thank you speech. The producers behind the show, the accounting firm PriceWaterhouseCooper came up to the stage to inform the audience about the mix-up.
Beatty was obviously handed the wrong envelope on his way to the stage to broadcast the big winner, which resulted to uncomfortable circumstances.

In the middle of the confusion, Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel, even joked about Steve Harvey, who once announced the incorrect winner for the Miss Universe crown. “Personally, I blame Steve Harvey for this, ” while the La la Land group stepped aside to give Moonlight group the spotlight.
However, during the press conference, Emma said that the envelope and result card for best actress, which she won minutes earlier, was with her from the time she received her Oscar. Therefore, there was a mistake in printing. Yes, there were two envelopes, but both had identical results.

Ohhhh wow, someone will mislay his/her career for this major boo-boo. Here are the nominees and winner of the recently concluded Oscars Award: (winner are highlighted)
