Bananas, one of the fruits that most of us love, can provide more than what we expect. They’re known as one of the more popular food in the world given their size, taste, and all things you can do with them. They can be eaten as is, they can be added to your dessert; you can literally do a lot of stuff with them. But what if you’re eating 2 bananas a day, what happens to your body?

What benefits do a banana have?

An average banana which weighs 125g, contains 450mg of potassium. Meaning, you should eat at least seven and a half bananas to fulfill that requirement. However, other food you eat contain potassium, banana’s just one of the food that gives a lot of these.


Other than the fact that it perfectly aids the digestive tracks, it can also help add to the fibre levels of the body. Meaning, it helps you feel full longer than the usual. As a matter of fact, bananas can be a good part of your diet if you’re trying to cut down on weight.

Another thing is that bananas are extremely healthy for the heart. According to some reports, eating at least one banana per day can lower the chances of developing cardiovascular diseases early on in life.

Besides its cardiovascular benefits, it also helps in keeping the nutrients active inside our bodies. With its high potassium levels, it makes the body a magnet to different nutrients like calcium and iron being excreted through urine. Does a ripe banana have any difference from a not-so-ripe one?

Like any other fruit, the taste improves when it ripens. In this context, consuming a ripe banana could taste better and have better effects on our bodies.
