What is Hyperhidrosis?

Hyperhidrosis is a condition of excessive sweating of the hands, feet, armpits, and the groin area. There are some who might think they have this condition but this actually cover extremities. You might sweat a lot but you don’t technically have Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating. People with this condition often discover that they experience it at least once a week.

Hyperhidrosis has two types:

Primary Hyperhidrosis

The type that produces heavy sweating with no underlying medical cause. This happens when the nerves responsible for triggering your sweat glands become overactive and call for more perspiration even when it is not needed. It’s just something about the nerves being active which, in turn, produce more sweat.

Secondary Hyperhidrosis

This, however, is the type that can be because of some medical condition. Since hyperhidrosis will just occur and people who have no control over it, they might feel embarrassed. Medical conditions such as Gout, Diabetes, Spinal cord injury, Anxiety, Obesity, and Alcoholism could be the medical causes which can lead to a severe case of Hyperhidrosis.

Are there medical treatments or pills you can take to get rid of this condition?

There are no straight medications to stop sweating but there are some which has side effects to k**l or to stop sweat glands. Lontophoresis is something that might be effective. However, this certain medication is only effective and efficient for feet and hands sweat. Moreover, the procedure is recommended to be repeated two or at least three times a week.
