How much walking do you need to cut down calories

A lot of people are now obsessed in seeing the weighing scale dramatically lower when they hop on to it. Many people go on a diet, as much as those people try and indulge in a physical program, and some try to do both. There were studies that walking – yes, walking can be a big factor in burning those unwanted calories off of their system. But let me cut to the chase here – can walking really trim you down? If that is so, how much walking should it be?

It was estimated that people who are active, have a goal of a minimum 10, 000 steps a day. For some, this 10, 000 step goal is already more than enough to burn a sufficient amount of calories.

Most people substantially burn almost or slightly above 100 calories when walking at a normal pace. For you to compute for a mile, it is somewhere near 2, 000 steps. So I’ll do the math here: if you walk at least 10, 000 steps a day, you burn somewhere above 500 calories. Take note that that number is for when you walk at least 5 miles.

It is difficult and sometimes, time-consuming if you try to think about it but dieting? A simple workout? They won’t help you as much as walking IF you are doing it correctly. Walking is known to be the simplest exercise but it is considered to be one of the more effective ones. Why? Because it activates all muscles in your body including your brain.

A pound of fat contains nearly 3, 500 calories. So, adding a good 10, 000 steps or 5 miles a day can help you eliminate 1 pound per week. Yes – you heard it correctly, 1 freaking pound per week.

Again, cutting of those unwanted numbers is not just about exercise as it includes the things you eat and how you live your life. Wellness; being healthy is 20% exercise and 80% diet. If you partner up walking to consuming fewer calories, say 250 calories a day? Then you can lose a staggering 1.5 lbs a week. See the difference?

Walking can be tiresome and it might be unwanted by many but walking is an essential tool for every individual. It doesn’t just take you from one point to another – it serves a far better purpose for all of us.
