The World’s Least And Most Stressful Cities

As we all now, stress is something that is grown personally; a lot of things can trigger stress including: physical, mental, emotional, and psychological factors. Although this is the case, would you believe when I tell you that there are countries and cities that are least stressful? You may ask, how can this have bearing on the stress I personally have? Well, to answer that, being in an environment where stress is less can actually be of great impact. Besides, where you live is one big factor of the stress you are experiencing.

According to a study done by Zipjet, a person’s stress levels can be dependent on what city he lives in. Their research discovered the most and least stressful cities in the world this 2017.

It’s quite funny but wondering at the same time. The factors of this study is not only on the location; it also includes:

  • Green space percentage
  • Public transport
  • Traffic levels
  • Financial status of citizens
  • Infrastructure
  • Pollution levels
  • Safety

Although these are the most touched factors of the study, these are just a few of them. Basically, you would have to look at the structure of the society, its environment, and the people who live in it.

UK’s Zipjet conducted a study on 500 different locations.

In Zipjet’s website, you would see a total of 150 cities around the world. It lists both the most and least stressful countries. In the study, Germany is the country where a lot of cities are least stressful. Topping the least stressful chart is Stuttgart, GermanyHannover, Germany in 3rd; Munich, Germany in 5th and; Hamburg, Germany in 9th. Note that Germany already has five cities in the least stressful cities. So, Germany is the go-to place if you want your environment to be stress-free.

You might be wondering why Stuttgart is the least stressful city in the world. Well, to begin with, Stuttgart has the largest percentages of green space considering the pollution (air, noise, and light). In addition, this wonderful city also has a strong economic stability.

Basing it on the list of the worst cities to live in if you are a man of stress, India is the country you should avoid. Three (3) of the most stressful cities are in India and therefore, you should take time to consider living in the country. Although India has tons of opportunities in terms of business, skills development, and careers, living in India should always be thought of. If you would look at the following cities, you would notice that traffic congestion is one factor they share. Therefore, traffic and pollution are part of the culprits on why people get stressed.

So much for this list, Zipjet made it clear and discussed how they were able to successfully laid the factors.

Florian Färber, Managing Director of Zipjet, said in a statement, ” “Mental health problems are on the rise worldwide, with stress being a trigger and contributing factor towards this increase. We hope that by pinpointing how the least stressful cities are managing this issue, those cities struggling with a stressed out population can overcome it.”

“We’re happy to be a part of the wave of digitalization working to reduce stress all around the world,” Färber added.

Zipjet is an organization that works hand-in-hand with different organizations to reduce stress all over the globe. What they do is that they develop technology that aims to help people become more efficient and of course, be less stressed!

Not contented with the list I gave you? No problem! You can visit Zipjet’s website by clicking here. In their list, you will see the factors they’ve taken note of and how they measured the factors.

Stress is something that everyone should never disregard. Why? Because something deeper and something more serious sprouts from stress. While you still have the time to cope and adjust with it, do so.
